The day has come, and it is time to reflect on the work I have done through my years in Scouting. Tonight is the night that I sat for my Eagle Board of Review.
I have worked hard for this day. My parents have pushed hard for this day. I am proud of my accomplishments, but there is still so much more to do.
It was held at the Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church on January 29th, 2020 at 6:30 PM. I was met there by Greg Lee, my Scoutmaster. For a short while, I sat with my Mom, De and Greg around the tables in the Fellowship Hall waiting to be called in. I guess they were looking over all of my Project Workbook.
They were:
- Lynn Lawson
- Vann Newell
- Kerry Buckman
I asked several people to sit on my Board of Review, such as Amanda Smith and Lee Hawkins, but for several reasons, they were unable to be there. So it was small, but I was happy with who was there. I did think that I was going to be grilled hard by Ms. Lynn, but she was awesome.
Things they asked
After reviewing my work on the Eagle Scout Service Project, and my Vision & Goals, they asked me the big question.
Do you think you deserve the honor of being an Eagle Scout?
Thinking quickly, because I thought it may be a trick question, I answered, “Yes. Yes, I do”. And Ms. Lynn replied, well “We do too”, and my heart dropped. There it was. They approved of all the work, and time I had put in and I was now an Eagle Scout!
